Land and Lease Analyst - Casper, Wyoming

This is a full time position that is responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and maintaining ownership of oil and gas leases, contracts, and minerals, as well as assisting the Land Manager, Analysts, and Landmen as assigned.  This position is responsible for receiving and analyzing new leases or contracts from various sources, and capturing indicative information in Excalibur; overseeing the recording of legal documents and organization of contract, lease, and mineral ownership files; updating of company land records; preparing legal documents for proper signature by the appropriate in-house entity; interpreting assignments of interest to maintain current ownership; coordinating ownership changes within the Division Order and JIB Systems; providing input in the calculation of all Delay Rentals, Minimum Royalties, Shut-In Payments, and other oil and gas lease payments; working with other Analysts and Landmen to update and maintain all Land Systems including Mapping; and assisting as necessary with the completion and distribution of morning reports to management and joint owners.  Minimum requirements include high school diploma or equivalent education with two to three (2-3) years of experience in land-related work;  Bachelor’s degree in a related business field preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook with good data entry skills; NALTA membership; CPLTA and/or AAPL preferred; ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; proficiency with fractions and decimals, descent and distribution; proficiency with legal descriptions; strong attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively; ability to produce accurate work within regular deadlines; ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; and English language fluency, verbal and written.  Must pass pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.
